“The Central African Republic is back on the international stage and wants to offer all investors from the north, south, east and west immeasurable opportunities […] Our country has a great deal to share with the world, and we are ready to welcome those who want to work with us.” – Richard Filakota, Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation.
By modernizing legal frameworks and introducing digital platforms across public and private sectors, the government is securing a predictable and attractive business climate. The next step is to keep strengthening these reforms and expand partnerships, with the goal of raising the national investment rate to 20% of GDP by 2028 – a target set by the National Development Plan (NDP). When combined with the country’s vast national assets, these efforts make CAR’s business environment a unique opportunity for meaningful and rewarding market entry.
The nation’s approach is characterized by proactivity that is clearly demonstrated by its recent milestones. From deepening economic relations with the USA at a high-level meeting in Washington to becoming a continental hub for economic dialogue during African Caucus – these achievements set the stage for the pivotal “Ambition 28” Round Table. Organized in September 2025 in Casablanca (Morocco), it became the first-of-its-kind event for the country, providing CAR with a chance to present the National Development Plan and its vision to key international partners.
“The results of the Round Table far exceeded expectations. While the initial target was to raise $8 billion, funding commitments reached more than $9 billion. A total of 18 memoranda of understanding were signed, bringing together more than 500 participants. The commitments obtained cover all the priority areas.” – Hervé Ndoba, Minister of Finance.
The impressive outcome of the Round Table signals rising international confidence in CAR’s transformative blueprint. Centered around the National Development Plan, CAR’s agenda defines a new dynamic – ambitious and resilient. The country no longer intends to remain on the sidelines but aims to be an active player on the regional stage. The tangible results, even just months after the event, leave little doubt about it. With reforms underway and major projects moving forward, CAR is clearly demonstrating its ability to turn its ambitions into reality and become Africa’s next success story.
